New England Forest Rally Map — Full Review

By BeamNGPitStop Staff

The New England Forest Rally map is one of the most impressive community-created maps in the BeamNG.drive repository, and it has been updated to be fully compatible with v0.38. Here's our full review.

Overview

Created by a dedicated community modder, the New England Forest Rally map is a real-life inspired rally circuit set in dense New England woodland. The map features a full rally loop with multiple stage variations, making it one of the largest and most technically demanding rally maps available for BeamNG.

Visuals

The map is visually stunning. Dense tree coverage, realistic gravel road surfaces, and dramatic elevation changes create an atmosphere that rivals official BeamNG maps. The lighting at dusk and dawn is particularly impressive, with light filtering through the forest canopy in a way that feels genuinely cinematic.

Driving Feel

The road surfaces are varied and challenging. Loose gravel transitions to compact dirt, with occasional tarmac sections through small villages. The elevation changes are dramatic enough to require careful speed management, and the narrow roads punish mistakes harshly — exactly as a real rally stage should.

Performance

The map is well-optimised for a community creation of this scale. On a mid-range PC, frame rates remain stable throughout. The v0.38 compatibility update also addressed some minor texture issues that were present in earlier versions.

Verdict

The New England Forest Rally map is an essential download for anyone who enjoys rally driving in BeamNG. It's free, regularly updated, and available directly from the official BeamNG repository. Highly recommended.
